Also I have to show you my collage of a person and here it is.
My blog is mostly to inspire artists in the upbringing and to expose people to the life of a high school student. I think that this new blog has shown me a different and more fun aspect of art.

My Art Class- Pen & Ink portrait.
Today during 4th & 5th period we had art class. We were required to grid our sketch pad paper and also to walk with a appropriately sized picture. The picture should be that of the face of a person. We then had to make the same amount of grid boxes( in same amount in height & width). Then our teacher gave us some notes and steps. The notes or tips are as follows:
1. Grid sheet of paper
2. Take a picture of a person and grid exactly like the sheet of paper.
3. Copy each grid from the picture on the sheet of paper. In the end, you should have the picture you see on the paper.
I will soon be submitting some photos of my work. We have to do the outline and the eyes(known as contour drawing). We were instructed not to shade and bring the drawing done in pencil next art class.

Pastels.
Today,13th of May, we had begun our work with pastels in Form 2 West of Hillview College. Firstly, we had to bring pastel paper and pastels;oil or chalk. If you did not have pastel paper, you had to lightly sand a sheet of sketch pad paper with a piece of emery or sand paper. I got back the result from my stillife of the mango. I was not really satisfied with the mark but I was improving. So we first had to bring a fruit again. We the had to do a color chart with at least 3 colors which we were expected to use.We had to use these specific type of paper so the roughness would trap the pastels and its color. Then we had to draw the outline of the fruit.I had learnt that you should amputate the pastel and I also learnt about wrapping and stippling. My fruit is coming out wonderful and I will post some pictures of it when I am finished. By the way, this is due for Monday. Oudit Mangar, out.

Literature linked to Visual Arts.
We had to do a drawing and color it for literature on the book "The Pearl." I will soon be posting this drawing as it is to my belief that this is one of the many ways Visual Arts is connected to the school syllabus. Visual Arts is also connected to Math for diagrams. I will soon post a picture of my drawing of "The Pearl."
This is a bitten mango with the shadow before I shade in the fruit.
This after I have shaded in the fruit and the shadow. This is the end result. Hope you like it :).

The Second Art Class.
Sorry for the late post but the second art class I had was on the 27th April. We were required to bring a fruit of our choice for a stillife. I carried a mango and also 2 pomeracs which was incidentally stolen, I wondered how. We also had to walk with our B pencils and paper of course. We had to taste, smell ,touch and observe our fruit. I bit a big chunk off the mango which was followed by laughter by some of my classmates. We had to do value chart of the different shades an the draw the shape of the mango. Our teacher,Mrs. Davis, said that the drawing had to be actual size. I drew my mango which took me about 1 period. For those of you who don`t know a period is 35 minutes. I then attempted to draw the shadow and show the light source. I ran out of time but luckily we got to carry it home to finish. I am now finished with my drawing and will soon post a picture of it.Oudit Mangar, out. xoxo

The First Art Class.
Today,26th April, I had my first art class for the term in Hillview College. For those of you who don`t know Hillview College is one of the most prestigious schools in the island of Trinidad and Tobago. We had to wear our formal uniform which I thought should have been our uniform. We also had our first Art class today and it was very exciting. We were told to bring our supplies and that was pretty much it. Sorry I cant go in much detail right now. Oudit Mangar, out.
