My Art Class- Pen & Ink portrait.

Today during 4th & 5th period we had art class. We were required to grid our sketch pad paper and also to walk with a appropriately sized picture. The picture should be that of the face of a person. We then had to make the same amount of grid boxes( in same amount in height & width). Then our teacher gave us some notes and steps. The notes or tips are as follows:
1. Grid sheet of paper
2. Take a picture of a person and grid exactly like the sheet of paper.
3. Copy each grid from the picture on the sheet of paper. In the end, you should have the picture you see on the paper.

I will soon be submitting some photos of my work. We have to do the outline and the eyes(known as contour drawing). We were instructed not to shade and bring the drawing done in pencil next art class.

Pastels.

Today,13th of May, we had begun our work with pastels in Form 2 West of Hillview College. Firstly, we had to bring pastel paper and pastels;oil or chalk. If you did not have pastel paper, you had to lightly sand a sheet of sketch pad paper with a piece of emery or sand paper. I got back the result from my stillife of the mango. I was not really satisfied with the mark but I was improving. So we first had to bring a fruit again. We the had to do a color chart with at least 3 colors which we were expected to use.We had to use these specific type of paper so the roughness would trap the pastels and its color. Then we had to draw the outline of the fruit.I had learnt that you should amputate the pastel and I also learnt about wrapping and stippling. My fruit is coming out wonderful and I will post some pictures of it when I am finished. By the way, this is due for Monday. Oudit Mangar, out.
